What does "Green" really mean?
Although everyone seems to have their own interpretation of what "GREEN" is, it has become universally accepted that the Earth is impacted by the activities of man. Whether you believe this impact is minor or catastrophic, common sense tells us that we should look for ways to reduce our impact on the current and future environment.
The founder of Green Pro Pest Solutions has spent over 30 years witnessing poor environmental stewardship in the pest control industry. Not all pest control companies are culprits, and industry leaders and organizations have done a lot to try to promote environmental awareness and conscientiousness. Despite this, many companies and pest management professionals "talk the talk" but don't "walk the walk".
Green Pro Pest Solutions realizes that environmentally responsible pest control takes more than simply making chemical selection decisions. By understanding the reasons pests are pests and using KNOWLEDGE to combat them, highly effective and very cost effective control and prevention can be achieved.
Here are the basic steps behind our philosophy:
IDENTIFY THE PEST – Often ineffective control is due to mis-identification of the pest. Green Pro is owned and operated by a degreed Entomologist with over 30 years of experience, who has authored several articles and technical papers.
IDENTIFY THE SOURCE – Pests don’t spontaneously generate….. infestations start somewhere and an understanding of the biology, life cycle and habits of the pest can lead us to the entry points or source of the problem.
MODIFY THE HABITAT – once the source or entry points have been identified, they can often be modified to eliminate the current pest population and reduce the chance of future infestations.
UTILIZE MINIMAL IMPACT MATERIALS – Sometimes the most effective way to solve or prevent pest problems will involve the use of products with pesticidal properties. Green Pro will always select the products that provide minimal, if any, impact on the local and general environment. Applications are always “targeted” to the areas closest to the origin of the pest problem…… reducing the volume of material and putting it where it is going to have maximum effect.
